December 1- Oregon City Tournament
Everyone
wrestled tough and was impressive. As a team we are young and
improving. All of us coaches were proud of each of you and can’t
wait for next week.
Preston Folk – after only his third tournament was able to wrestle
three full matches. He took his opponents down and didn’t go to his
back at all. Congratulations!!!
Austin Conner
– In his first year and after only 2 practices, Austin scored
multiple take downs and didn’t go to his back. His opponents were
amazed he was a new wrestler. Keep up the good work Champ!!!
Jullian Vaughn
– Congratulations to Jullian for another win!!!! As a second year
wrestler, Jullian continues to impress his coaches and opponents.
After a few more wins you might need to move up to a yellow card.
Caleb Cramer
- Caleb has
only a few weeks of experience but continues to show he has a lot of
energy and strength. A bracketing error had him wrestling a boy
with three years of experience but Caleb stepped on the mat ready
and put up a good fight. We expect to see a take down from Caleb
next week. Nice job Caleb!!!!!
Trevor Schneider
– Trevor is a big boy with a big heart. He wrestled two boys whom
each had 4 more years of experience. With two close matches against
tough competition we look forward to seeing the heart of a tiger
next week.
Caleb Empey
– Caleb was
our first wrestler to move up to a yellow card and was paired in a
three man bracket that included a blue card wrestler. He dropped
the first match to the blue card wrestler by a few point but took
him down and shows he can compete with tough boys. His second match
was equally as tough and ended in a tie. Keep on working Hard!!!!!
See you at
practice guys.

Putnam Tournament
Results:
Preston Folk had another career day at the Rex Putnam League
Tournament! Preston beat his rival, Noah Pottratz by a score of 5-1
and recorded his first pin! This was also the first tournament
Preston has ever won; good job Preston!
Austin
Conner
continues to amaze us all. Austin wrestled tough in four matches on
Saturday, winning three of them! Austin also recorded his first two
pins; keep it up, Austin!
Caleb Cramer
wrestled some very strong opponents, but he stayed tough all the way
through. Caleb continues to improve on aspects of his game each
time we see him out there.
Julian
Vaughn
wrestled a very exciting exhibition match against his team mate,
Austin. The final score was 7-11, but they were both winners in
that match. Both boys wrestled great and had fun, which is what
this sport is all about. We look forward to seeing Julian back in
tournament competition again, next week.
Danny
Aguilar is a
real treat to watch. Always entertaining, Danny picked another big
victory on the 15th, cheered on by his mom and his three older
brothers. Danny then had another tough match to a more experienced
kid, but managed to stay off his back and dropped the match via
decision. We're all proud of you, Danny.
Triston Shaw
managed to make it out to the tournament in the middle of a busy day
and got an exhibition match. Triston showed good fire in the match
and did some good things. We look forward to seeing Triston in
tournament matches, soon.
Justin
and Eligh wrestled each other tough, ending the match with a close score. Keep up
the good work boys, and I'm sure we'll see you two succeeding in
tournament matches very soon!
Trevor
Schneider
was great at his home tournament. Trevor started off with a 1-1 tie
and finished things off with great victory for himself. Trevor's
oldest brother, Portland State University wrestler Jake was there to
see his brother get a well deserved win. Trevor really showed a
killer's instinct out there; nearly breaking his opponent's nose, he
didn't let the blood bother him at all. Make sure to stop the
action next time you're covered in your opponent's blood, Trevor!
Caleb Empey,
our only yellow card wrestler, had a great day. Caleb wrestled his
way to a 3-3 against a very tough BLUE CARD opponent from Kirk
Spencer Mat Club. While it wasn't the best result of Caleb's
matches that day, I think it was his most impressive. |
